
Wes Smith Obituary, Death Cause -Texas Christian University Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Kathy Cavins-Tull issued the following statement: I am writing to all of the Students, Members of the Faculty, and Members of the Staff today to inform you that one of our students passed away as a result of a gunshot that occurred in the West 7th area early this morning. I am writing to you today to inform you of this tragic news. I am writing to advise you of some terrible news that has just come to light.
Wes Smith, a junior at the university who was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity and had a major in Finance, passed suddenly early this morning. At this time, the sense of loss that is prevalent throughout our community is broad. I cannot stress enough how important it is for you to take advantage of the various immediate counseling choices that are accessible to you today for the sake of your emotional and spiritual wellness.
The Counseling and Mental Health Center can be found on the second floor of Jarvis Hall. There is no need to make an appointment in order to visit this facility. Carr Chapel is available and has a chaplain on duty; the first floor of Jarvis Hall; stroll in at any time for one-on-one help; appointments are not required.
