Travis Gilbert Obituary, Death – In the early hours of a fateful Friday morning, tragedy struck St. Marys Avenue in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Allen County Coroner’s Office has officially identified the victim of this senseless act as 28-year-old Travis Gilbert, a beloved member of our community. His untimely death has been ruled a homicide, marking the 17th such tragedy to befall Allen County this year.
The Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) responded to the scene shortly after receiving a call about the shooting at 1:20 a.m. Gilbert’s life was tragically cut short, and another individual was fortunate to escape with non-life-threatening injuries.
In a significant development, the FWPD swiftly took action and apprehended three individuals believed to be connected to the incident: 36-year-old Royal Davis Jr., 29-year-old Jessica Fuentes, and 28-year-old Robert Ward.
Davis now faces grave charges, including murder, felony murder, attempted murder, and resisting arrest. Fuentes, too, faces a multitude of charges, including murder, felony murder, and attempted murder. Ward has been charged with robbery resulting in death.
