Traci Calais Obituary, Death – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Traci Lynn Pitchford Calais, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who departed this world on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at the age of 58. Traci’s legacy is one of care, compassion, and a deep love for her family.
Traci was born on December 11, 1964, in Kingsport, TN, to Gayle Cabe Pitchford and the late Robert Pitchford. She also shared her life with her late husband, Robert Calais. Traci dedicated herself to nursing, proudly achieving her Licensed Practical Nurse certification, and she found immense joy in caring for others. Her compassionate nature touched the lives of all she encountered.
Traci had a passion for travel, with a love for cruises, the beach, and the mountains. But her heart’s true treasure was her family. She cherished her role as a mother and grandmother, ensuring that every Christmas and birthday was filled with love and cherished moments.
Traci is survived by her three sons, Robbie Calais, Brandon Calais, and Chris Calais, and her daughter, Katie Craig. Her four grandchildren, C.J. Calais, Karlee Plyler, Jaxtin Harper, and Madison Calais, were the lights of her life. She is also survived by two brothers, Michael Todd Pitchford and Robert “Trey” Pitchford, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Traci now joins her husband, Robert Calais, and her father, Robert Pitchford, in eternal peace.
A visitation to celebrate Traci’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Burgess Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Nurses Foundation.
