Shirley O’Neal Obituary, Death – Shirley C. O’Neal, aged 67, peacefully passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023, in the comforting embrace of her daughter’s home, surrounded by her loving family. Shirley dedicated her career to caring for others, working as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medication Technician (CMT), and Restorative Aid at Signature Health Care of Hart County.
Beyond her professional life, she found joy in fishing and exploring new places. She was not only an exceptional wife but also a loving mother, devoted grandmother, and proud great-grandmother. Born to the late Stanley Murphy and the late Marie Allen Murphy, Shirley’s journey in life was marked by her unwavering commitment to family.
She shared 50 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Robert O’Neal, of Munfordville, KY. Their enduring love was a testament to their deep bond. Shirley is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Vance and her husband Donnie of Canmer, KY, and Nichole Gibson and her husband Macy of Munfordville, KY.
Her legacy continues through her four cherished grandchildren: Matthew Wilson (Brenna), Thea Gibson, Hunter Vance (Taylor), and Wade Gibson, as well as her three beloved great-grandchildren: Abel, Ayden, and Asher. She is also survived by her sister, Lisa Cash, her nephew Allen Cash (Ashley), her special friend Crystal Bennett, and an extra grandson, Dakota Burger.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation hours from 5:00 – 9:00 PM CT on Monday, September 18, 2023, and again on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Brooks Funeral Home. Shirley’s funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM CT on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Brooks Funeral Home, officiated by Bro.
Matthew Wilson. She will be laid to rest at the Concord Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the activities department of Signature Health Care of Hart County in loving memory of Shirley.
