Roger Birchfield Obituary, Resident Of Adrian, Died At 86

Roger Birchfield Obituary, Death- Roger F. Birchfield, 86 years old, passed away on September 16, 2023 in his home in Adrian, surrounded by his devoted family.

Samuel and Tessie (Buchann) Birchfield were his parents, and he was born on October 22, 1936 in Adrian. Between the years of 1958 and 1964, he was enlisted in the United States Army. Roger married the woman who would become the love of his life, Judy Stralnic, on September 19, 1964. On Tuesday, September 19, 2014, the couple would have celebrated 60 years of beautiful years together.

Roger Birchfield Auto Sales, Inc. had been under his ownership and management for a good number of years during his career in the vehicle sales industry. Wholesalers from the states of Michigan and Ohio used to call him to acquire prices on automobiles, and he was always accurate with his estimates.

Roger was a member of the Bethany Assembly of God Church, in addition to the Moose and the American Legion. He enjoyed activities such as fishing, gardening, and going on adventures. Roger was also a devoted supporter of Michigan State University and the Detroit Tigers.

In addition to his wife Judy, he is survived by a son, Jeffrey S. Birchfield of Adrian, a grandson, Nathaniel Aaron Birchfield of Adrian, and a sister-in-law, Ann Birchfield of Okemos, Michigan. His wife Judy is also among those who carry on his legacy.

His parents, a daughter named Toni Kay Birchfield who passed away in 1990, three brothers named Sam Jr., Jonathan, and Jack Birchfield, and three sisters named Lois Baughey, Dixie Birchfield, and Jenny Alcock, as well as a sister-in-law named Sandra Birchfield all passed away before he did. He is survived by a son.

On Monday, September 18, 2023, at one o’clock in the afternoon, funeral services for Roger will be place at Bethany Assembly of God Church, with Pastor William Leach officiating the ceremony. Visitation will start at 12:00 p.m., an hour before the service, on the day of the funeral. As was Roger’s request, the funeral rites will be followed by the cremation of his remains.
