Rich Carlsen Obituary, Death – Grief over Rich Carlsen’s death. The 57-year-old Richard G. Carlsen has passed on. Many adored him. Rich, his family, and friends lived in Eureka Springs. On August 1, 1965, Rich was born in Tampa, Florida, beginning his journey. He graduated from Parkview High School in Little Rock following kindergarten in Galion, Ohio, from New York. The political science scholarship enabled Rich attend Oklahoma University.

Arkansas University graduated him. His BA included political science, finance, business, and photography. The Santa Barbara Brooks Institute chose his Cristo umbrella photos for graduating seniors from 10,000 applicants. In college, he worked at Little Rock Distributing. His domain was NW Arkansas. This employment led him to beautiful NW Arkansas for ten years. In five years, Rich was their best seller. His wish came true by chance. He bought Eureka Springs’ Silver Ridge Resort 2000. Rich left corporate life. He bought Sugar Ridge Resort in 2005 to keep interested.

Rich built major Nature Conservancy lodges. Board president of Eureka Fitness. Rich helped Arkansas Trout Unlimited and Eureka Springs Chamber of Commerce. Rivers, fishing, boating, and kayaking were his hobbies. His favorite spot was outside. At 13, Philmont Boy Scout Camp in New Mexico’s harsh mountains ignited his love of nature. Rich always wondered. He made you laugh, share fantastic stories, and appreciate life with his smile and passion. Always ready, willing to help, and never bored.

The NW Arkansas children Ashley Nicole (2000) and Lindsay Belle (2004) survive Rich. Beverly Schenck Carlsen and Richard G. Carlsen Jr. of Camarillo were his loving parents. His wife Lisa Lynn Mullins of Eureka Springs, Arkansas; step daughter Hayden K Knighten and husband, Clay of Conway, Arkansas; step son Robert Benjamin Mullins Jr. of Eureka Springs; sister Elizabeth Dawn Shelton and husband, Gary of Little Rock, Arkansas; aunt Judy Carlsen Smith and husband, Tom of Littleton, Colorado; aunt June “Junebug” Simmons Ackerstein and husband, Hal of Sarasota, Florida Feel his love and care always.
