Megan Saunders Obituary, Death – The York County Coroner’s Office has disclosed the identities and details surrounding a tragic incident in Dover Township. The victims have been identified as 29-year-old Megan Saunders and 31-year-old Devon Elias, who were reported to share a child together.
The incident unfolded at Saunders’ residence on the 4100 block of Strawbridge Court around 2:25 p.m. on Wednesday. According to the coroner’s office, Elias entered the home in the morning and fatally shot Saunders. He later turned the weapon on himself, taking his own life around 2:40 p.m. the same day.
Elias was a resident of Prince George’s County, Maryland, as indicated by the coroner’s report. Fortunately, there were no other individuals present in the house at the time of the shootings. The coroner’s office determined that Saunders’ cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds, and it was classified as a homicide.
On the other hand, Elias’ cause of death was attributed to a gunshot wound to the head, and his death was ruled a suicide. The incident prompted a standoff situation outside the residence, resulting in the closure of multiple roads and the issuance of “shelter in place” and “keep out” notices by the township and a local school district.
The families of the deceased have been informed of the tragic events, and autopsies will not be conducted.
