Leonarda Dudash Obituary, Beloved Resident Of Kennedy Twp Has sadly Passed Away

Leonarda Dudash Obituary, Death – Kennedy Township mourns the passing of a beloved community member, Leonarda Dudash, who peacefully journeyed to eternal life on Friday, September 8th, just eleven days before her 95th birthday. Leonarda’s life was a testament to dedication, love, and unwavering commitment to her family, her community, and her profession.

Born to Nick and Isabelle Antonelli, Leonarda graduated from McKees Rocks High School and the University of Pittsburgh. She began her career as a gym teacher in the McKees Rocks School District, but her greatest joy came from raising her two sons, Nicholas and George Dudash III, alongside her beloved husband, George Dudash Jr.

Later in life, Leonarda resumed her passion for teaching, sharing her knowledge of biology with students in the newly formed Sto-Rox School District. Over her 30-year career as an educator, she left an indelible mark on countless young minds, instilling in them a love for learning that continues to ripple through the community.

Retirement didn’t slow Leonarda down; instead, she and George devoted their time to volunteering with Meals on Wheels, cultivating beautiful gardens, and exploring the world through travel. Their shared adventures were a testament to their enduring love.

Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects at the Sanvito Funeral Home, 1650 Broadway, on Thursday, September 14th, from 2 pm to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mary’s Help of Christian Church on Friday, September 15th, at 10 am. Leonarda will be laid to rest at St. Mark’s Cemetery in Kennedy following the Mass.

In honor of Leonarda Dudash’s memory and her dedication to education, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to the Sto-Rox School District. It is a fitting tribute to a remarkable woman who touched the lives of so many through her teaching and her unwavering love for her community. Leonarda Dudash’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
