Kelsey Thaxton Obituary, Death – Kelsey Dionna Thaxton, age 23, of Springfield, Illinois, departed this world on Friday, June 25, 2021, at the residence she shared with her family. Matt Driscol and Tim Harris will preside over the funeral services that will be held on Friday, July 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home. After the funeral, the burial will take place in the Palestine Cemetery, and the pallbearers will be Darrell Thaxton, Dalton Thaxton, Bobby Thaxton, Shane Claborn, Phillip Pentecost, Matthew Evitts, Ryan Bennett, and Mario Fierro. At the funeral home, the family will greet friends on Thursday beginning at 5:00 p.m. and continuing until 8:00 p.m., and on Friday beginning at 9:00 a.m. and continuing until the start of the service.
Kelsey was born in Springfield, Illinois, on October 24th, 1997. She graduated with the Class of 2016 from Springfield High School, where she was a member of the Beta Club during her time there. Kelsey attended the Grace Baptist Church in Springfield, where she was a member, in addition to working as a claims adjuster for Quality Resource Management in the White House. Her passions included elephants, crafts, riding horses, and spending time with her family. Her daughter Kaisley was the absolute joy of her life, and she was a wonderful mother who adored her child very much.
Kaisley was the reason she kept going. Her grandmother Sherry Thaxton, grandfather Dennis Wix, and grandfather Jesse Pentecost all passed away before she did. Kelsey is survived by her daughter, Kaisley Thaxton, of Springfield, by her mother, Jessica Knight, also of Springfield, by her father and stepmother, Darrell and Tina Thaxton, also of Springfield, by her brother, Dalton Thaxton, also of Springfield, by her sister, Alayna Knight, also of Springfield, and by her grandparents, Dianne Eads of Springfield, Wayne Thaxton of Greenbrier, Randy and Tina Ellis of Springfield, and Lisa Kimberly of Adams.
