Kathy Jean Kelly Obituary, Death- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kathy Jean Kelly, a resident of Rye, Texas, who peacefully departed from this world on September 10, 2023, after a brave and enduring battle with cancer. She now rests serenely in the loving embrace of our Lord. Kathy was born in Houston, Texas, on July 25, 1955, to proud parents Kennard Williams and Billie Phipps. On July 7, 1972, she joined hands with Ralph Kelly in holy matrimony, and together, they embarked on a journey filled with love and devotion.
Kathy had an unbreakable bond with the outdoors, finding solace and joy in the warm embrace of nature. On sunny days, you could often find her tending to her beloved gardens and carefully cultivating exquisite flower beds. Sewing and quilting were among her cherished hobbies, and she dedicated countless hours to crafting beautiful quilts, a labor of love for her adoring grandchildren, who affectionately called her Nana. Her love for fishing was undeniable, but her deepest happiness was derived from spending quality time with her family, especially her cherished grandchildren. Kathy’s infectious smile and warm, enveloping hugs will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Kathy Jean Kelly is survived by her loving husband, Ralph Kelly, of Rye, Texas, her son Jason Kelly and his wife Tammie of Moss Hill, Texas, her daughter Kristina Kelly of Rye, Texas, and her treasured grandchildren, Matthew and Sarah Kelly of Moss Hill, Texas. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, each touched by her enduring love and warmth. Visitation to pay respects to Kathy’s memory was held at Cochran Funeral Home, 406 N Yaupon Ave, Livingston, Texas, 77351, on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM for family and from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM for friends.
The final farewell took place at Holly Grove Cemetery, 494 County Line Rd South, Livingston, Texas, 77351, on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 10:00 AM, where Kathy found her eternal rest surrounded by the beauty of nature she so deeply cherished. As we remember Kathy Jean Kelly, may her love for life, her nurturing spirit, and her warm-hearted embrace forever be etched in our hearts. Her memory will continue to bloom, much like the flowers she so lovingly tended, bringing comfort and solace to those who hold her dear. Rest in peace, dear Kathy.
