HOLLISTER, Calif – According to a notice from Hollister High School, classes and all after-school, extracurricular, and athletic events scheduled for Thursday have been canceled due to inclement weather. Additionally, the school announced that on Friday, staff members from the counseling and wellness centers will be present on campus to offer any support or help that may be required by the students.
Updated at 12:15 p.m. with information from the police that the lockdown has been lifted. As of 11:45 a.m., the police report that one student was arrested and two pupils were detained as a result of the incident. According to the police, they were in the process of finishing off removing all potential dangers from the school. According to the law enforcement agency that is assigned to the school,
they got complaints of drug activity, which led to the discovery of a loaded weapon on campus. These reports were given to the police. A lockdown was ordered while police began their investigation of further persons who may have been involved and while they searched for additional firearms.
On Thursday morning, the Hollister High School campus was placed under lockdown. The wellbeing of your kid is our number one concern, and we will keep you apprised of any new information as it becomes available,” the institution stated online.
As the situation was being handled by the authorities, the school requested that parents refrain from entering the campus. It was stated that Hollister police were searching two sites of interest on the campus of the school. “We ask that you kindly refrain from coming to the school.
