Evelyn Aubuchon was the daughter of Ernest and Hazel (Oldham) Aubuchon. She was born on November 12, 1932 in Festus, Missouri. In 1952, she wed Virgil Schwent, the man who would become the love of her life. She was a devout Catholic who never missed a weekend service at St. James and Patrick’s Catholic Church, where she was a member.
Evelyn was a devoted member of her family. She found great fulfillment in being a stay-at-home mother to her two daughters. After receiving the news that her husband had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, Evelyn went to work as a clerk for Tolly’s until the store went out of business. Following her time at Tolly’s, she found employment at Soy Capital Bank.
In the end, she was compelled to remain at home in order to tend to Virgil’s needs. Following the demise of her husband, she started a new job as a clerk at Kohl’s. Evelyn took pleasure in doing projects around the house, tending to her garden, and spending time with her family at restaurants.
She had a soft spot for feline companions and adored her granddogs and cats equally. She cherished the time she got to spend with her loved ones and will be remembered for being a selfless caretaker who put her husband and children’ needs before of her own.
Her daughters, Glenda (Randy) Reed of Chesapeake, Virginia and Sally (Dan) Boland of Decatur, as well as her grandkids, Stephanie Mertig of Virgina Beach, Virginia, and Robert Reed of Chesapeake, Virginia, as well as three great-grandchildren, and her sister, Norma Woodson of Houston, Texas, are among those who are left behind. Both of Evelyn’s parents and her husband, Virgil, passed away before she did.
