Dylan McMahon Obituary, Death- Dylan Charles McMahon, a vibrant soul of 31 years, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, in Rockford, the place that held his heart.

Born on May 22, 1992, Dylan was the cherished son of John and Cresta (Watson) McMahon, a testament to the love they shared. Dylan’s journey began at Hononegah High School, and he later found his purpose working with JG McMahon Construction.

But life wasn’t just about work for him; it was about the richness of experiences. He found joy in fishing and the thrill of antiquing, and he embraced the strength and support of the AA community. Yet, among all these passions, one beacon shone the brightest in Dylan’s life—his beloved daughter, Hazel. His unwavering love and dedication to her illuminated every step of his journey.

Dylan embodied love in its purest form, with a heart overflowing with generosity, a wit that could brighten any room, and a compassion that touched everyone he met. He was a one-of-a-kind soul who left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege to know him. Dylan leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by his precious daughter, Hazel; his loving parents, John and Cresta.

his siblings, Zach and Alyssa McMahon; his adored nephew and niece, Owen Braswell and Morgan McMahon; his cherished grandmothers, Cathy McMahon and Lillian McMahon; his caring aunts, Tracey (Ken) Warner, Misty Houser, and Jeni McMahon; his supportive uncle, Chuck (Danielle) Watson; and a host of dear cousins.

He also leaves behind the mother of his daughter, Angie Loptien, and his best friends, Austin (Brittney) Lindquist and Josh Kimes, who stood by his side through thick and thin. Dylan was predeceased by his grandfather, John Gary McMahon II; his grandmother, Martha Kay Watson; and his dear aunt Richelle Varble.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to HA at the Rockford Alano Club for their support during this challenging time. A visitation to celebrate Dylan’s life will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Olson North Main Chapel, 2811 N. Main St., Rockford. Private burial services will be at Willwood Burial Park.

A luncheon will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the Alano Club of Rockford, 1210 11st St, Rockford, IL., 61104. Time to be determined. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family. In Dylan’s memory, we carry forward his love, his laughter, and the indomitable spirit that made him so special. He will forever remain in our hearts, a beacon of love and light.
