Dave Owens Obituary, Death – I would like to share some heartbreaking news with all of you. My father, Dave Owens, left us on the 12th of September, 2023. It has been a profound loss, and I had hoped that my father would witness the completion of a project that meant a great deal to him. Unfortunately, that won’t be possible now.
The Rescue Tender, which I’ve been diligently working on, holds a special place in our family’s history. It was brand new when my father began his journey with the Hamilton Fire Board back in 1973. As fate would have it, I was just about to embark on starting the project when I received the call that my father’s health had taken a turn for the worse.
In light of this loss, I will be taking a brief hiatus from working on the Rescue Tender this week. However, my determination to see this project through has only grown stronger. I see it as more than just a restoration; it’s become a rolling legacy, a tribute to my father’s enduring legacy and dedication to his work.
Though he may not be here to witness its completion in person, I am committed to honoring his memory by finishing what he started. The Rescue Tender will stand as a testament to his hard work and the indomitable spirit he instilled in me. Thank you all for your support during this challenging time.
